ABOUT

Welcome to Gluten Free For All. My name is Jessica, and I was diagnosed with celiac disease in March 2010 after struggling with intestinal issues for years. When my doctor called to tell me that through a simple blood test he was able to determine that I had celiac disease, I had no idea what that meant. And I was scared. Until he said it meant that I was allergic to wheat, and more specifically, gluten. In that instant my life changed completely and I haven’t looked back since.

I don’t miss my old, non-gluten-free diet, because I feel like a new person. I don’t feel sick all of the time, I have more energy and most importantly, I enjoy food. Food was always such a struggle for me because it made me feel sick. Now I have an entirely new outlook on food and cooking, which is why I’m here writing this. I love food. I love cooking. I want to share recipes, and even just my general experience living gluten-free in Brooklyn (and New York City), in the hopes that I can help anyone with celiac or a gluten sensitivity or allergy in some way, like many other people and blogs have done for me.

After more than five years of working in marketing and public relations, I recently decided to pursue my life-long dream of going to culinary school. Starting in September 2013 I will be doing a dual, full-time business/management and culinary arts program at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in NYC. I'm so looking forward to sharing all of my culinary school adventures on this blog, and hope you'll stick along for the ride.

A million thanks to my friends and family who have been so incredibly supportive of my gluten-free lifsetyle, my blog and perhaps most importantly, my decision to up and quit my job and follow my culinary dreams. I couldn't do any of this without you.

Always feel free to contact me with any comments, questions or even recipe requests at gfreeforall@gmail.com.
