Welcome to Gluten Free For All!

Starting a blog is a very intimidating task. It’s been almost two months since I told myself (and my friends) that I would start a gluten-free blog, and so far… Nothing. But here I am! Finally.

I guess before I do anything else I should probably tell you a little bit about myself. I’m 26-years-old and live in Brooklyn. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in March 2010, after struggling with intestinal issues for years and years. When my doctor called to tell me that through a simple blood test they were able to determine that I had Celiac Disease, I had no idea what that meant. And I was scared. Until he said it meant that I was allergic to wheat, and more specifically, gluten. In that instant my life changed completely and I haven’t looked back since. I don’t miss my old, non-gluten-free diet, because I feel like a new person. I don’t feel sick all of the time, I have more energy, and most importantly, I enjoy food. Food was always such a struggle for me because it made me feel sick. Now I have an entirely new outlook on food and cooking, which is why I’m here writing this. I love food. I love cooking. I want to share recipes, and even just my general experience living gluten-free in Brooklyn (and New York City), in the hopes that I can help anyone with Celiac or a gluten sensitivity or allergy in some way, like many other people and blogs have done for me. So here goes nothing!

Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of not only my starting this blog, but of my gluten-free lifestyle in general. I couldn't do it without you guys. And thanks to my stepmom for coming up with the name for the blog!

Oh, and always feel free to contact me with any comments or questions at gfreeforall@gmail.com.
